Once I asked Russ Wiley, PR director at the Superconducting Super Collider, what the world could expect to learn from the Super Collider. He said calmly, “We’ve been told not to give a direct answer to that question. But off the record,” he continued, “maybe limitless free energy for the rest of time.” That’s what I call chutzpah. When Bill Clinton killed that project after $2 billion had been invested, I thought, “What a shame.”
